GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team returned to action on Saturday at a tri-match hosted by Aquinas College.
The Cougars opened with a 3-0 victory over Huntington University, but would fall to Aquinas 3-0 in the night cap.
VS. HUNTINGTON

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor hit a season-best .368 in the match while holding Huntington to a -.011 hitting percentage.
- Alison Ford had 10 kills to lead the Cougars while Alison Nibbelink followed with eight and Claudia Ellis added six. Hope Notter handed out 21 assists and Hayden Fortress finished with eight assists and three aces.
- Ellis also recorded a team-high five blocks and Paige Porter collected a team-best 10 digs.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Ford posted 14 kills against Aquinas and hit at a .379 clip. Nibbelink finished with eight kills and McKenna Peters chipped in six.
- Notter registered a double-double with 26 assists and 12 digs. Porter led the team with 13 digs.

Spring Arbor will compete in another tri-match at Aquinas on Friday, Mar. 19. The Cougars will play Calumet College of St. Joseph at 6 p.m. and Aquinas at 8 p.m.
