Baseball drops non-conference game at GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball dropped a non-conference contest at Grand Valley State University 17-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • Grand Valley State scored four runs in the second inning to grab an early 4-0 lead.
  • The Lakers added five runs in the fourth, seven in the fifth and one in the sixth.
  • It was the first time this season Spring Arbor had been shutout in a game. The Cougars were limited to six hits with Ben Redfield collecting two, including a double.
  • Ben Garcia and Zach Kraabel, both, worked a scoreless inning of relief out of the bullpen.

Spring Arbor returns to Crossroads League action this weekend. The Cougars will open a four-game series against Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana beginning with a doubleheader Friday, Apr. 2 starting at 2 p.m.
