SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University softball team rallied from behind to defeat the University of Saint Francis twice on Saturday. Trailing 1-0 in game one, the Cougars scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off with a 2-1 victory. Then, in game two, SAU trailed 3-0, but plated four runs in the bottom of the fifth and held on for a 4-3 win.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Emmalee Hamp was dominant in the circle. The freshman pitcher limited Saint Francis to only one run on two hits in seven innings of work while striking out nine batters.
- After being shutout for the first six innings, the Cougar offense came through when it needed to the most, scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh to walk-off with the win. Hamp delivered an RBI single to score Jessie Panchaud. Then, Cora Millay crossed the plate with the winning run on a ground ball by Jade Nowe.
- Hamp was 2-for-3 at the plate while Hannah Laurin also collected a pair of hits.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Saint Francis scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie.
- Spring Arbor answered immediately with four in the home half of the frame – highlighted by a two-RBI double by Millay – to take the lead.
- That was all the run support starting pitcher Kelsey Sturgeon needed as she closed the door on Saint Francis to earn the win. Sturgeon pitched all seven innings, surrendering only one earned run and struck out four batters.
