MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Spring Arbor University softball team suffered a pair of losses on the road at Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Friday. The Cougars were edged 7-6 in game one before falling 14-0 in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- The lead changed hands six times in a back-and-forth game one before MVNU scored what proved to be the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- Spring Arbor opened the scoring with two runs in the first on a two-RBI double by Jade Nowe. However, Mount Vernon posted three runs of its own in the home half of the inning to grab a 3-2 lead.
- Nowe delivered again in the second inning, this time a two-RBI single to give SAU a 4-3 advantage. But, the home team responded with two runs in the third inning to retake the lead, 5-4.
- A Brookelyn Stafford RBI single highlighted a two-run fifth inning for Spring Arbor to pull ahead 6-5. Mount Vernon Nazarene answered again, however, scoring once in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game and added another run in the sixth to jump in front.
- Nowe finished 2-for-3 at the plate with four RBI's. Jessie Panchaud and Cora Millay scored two runs apiece.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor was unable to slow down the Mount Vernon Nazarene offense in game two. The home team scored in each of the first four innings on the way to the win.
- Hannah Laurin collected two of SAU's four hits while Panchaud and Nowe each had one.
