GOSHEN, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team earned its first Crossroads League victory of the season after defeating Goshen College 3-0 on Saturday.
Prior to making the trip to Goshen, the Cougars suffered a hard-fought loss to No. 25 ranked Bethel University at home on Friday night.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- For the second consecutive match, Spring Arbor hosted a Top 25 ranked opponent, and for the second straight time, the Cougars gave the visitors all they could handle.
- Spring Arbor took Bethel to extra points in the first set before the Pilots ultimately came away with a 27-25 win. The Cougars were nearly perfect in the second set, hitting .417 as a team with zero errors, on their way to a 25-16 win and evening the match at one set apiece.
- After a back and forth start, a late 5-1 run helped Bethel capture the third set, before the visitors would clinch the match in the fourth.
- Alison Ford had 13 kills and 10 digs to lead the Cougars. McKenna Peters followed with 10 kills and Claudia Ellis chipped in nine.
- Hope Notter dished out 40 assists to go along with eight digs. Frances Churchwell registered a team-high 12 digs while Alison Nibbelink and Macey Rupp recorded four blocks each.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor made quick work of Goshen to grab their first league win of the season.
- Ellis finished with 12 kills – just one off her season-high – with a .500 hitting percentage. Ford had nine kills on the day and Peters posted seven.
- Churchwell picked up nine digs and had five aces. Nibbelink and Rupp finished with four blocks apiece.
