INDIANAPOLIS – In a showdown between two of the top teams in the nation, it was the No. 4 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team that came away with a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Marian University on Wednesday night.
The Cougars got a goal from
Ariana Stoltzfus in the sixth minute and made it stand to come away with their seventh consecutive win.
Spring Arbor improves to 7-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Crossroads League while Marian slipped to 8-2-1 and 0-1-1 in league play.

- Spring Arbor collected its seventh straight win with its victory over Crossroads League rival Marian. Not only did the Cougars extend their winning streak, but also extended their shutout streak to seven consecutive matches, now outscoring their opponents 24-1 on the season.
- The win was SAU's third over a Top 25 ranked opponent this season.
- The Cougars also snapped Marian's 25-game home unbeaten streak, handing the Knights their first home setback since Sept. 28, 2019.
- Stoltzfus tallied her third goal of the season, scoring off a free kick in the sixth minute.
- Spring Arbor outshot Marian 18-10 on the evening and earned seven corner kicks compared to the Knights' three.
- Goalkeeper Emily Ponstein recorded three saves.
