Braun, Grayson lead Men’s Basketball past LTU in OT

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team picked up its third straight victory with an 86-82 overtime win at Lawrence Tech on Saturday.
 
Austin Braun led the way with a career-high 27 points while freshman Travis Grayson added a season-best 23 points and five assists.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • Spring Arbor led by as many as 12 in the game, holding a 46-34 advantage at the 16:26 mark of the second half.
  • The lead was seven, 62-55, with 5:45 remaining in regulation when Lawrence Tech used a 16-5 run to pull ahead 71-67 with 1:34 left on the clock.
  • With less than a minute left, Braun hit a layup to trim the deficit to two. Following a defensive stop, Grayson knocked down a pair of clutch free throws to force overtime.
  • Back-to-back buckets by Braun and Grayson in overtime put the Cougars in front.
  • SAU ballooned the lead to eight, 81-73, in the extra period, but LTU battled its way back once again. The Blue Devils got within two, 84-82, in the closing seconds, but Braun sealed the game at the charity stripe with two more free throws.
  • Braun finished with a career-high 27 points, including seven in overtime. Grayson followed with 23 points and five assists.
  • Eli White and Kevyn Roberton added 13 and 12 points, respectively, while Robertson also collected nine rebounds.
  • Lawrence Tech was led by Andrew Rinn, who finished with a game-high 31 points.
