Nelson’s double-double leads SAU to fourth straight win

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Behind a 21-point, 14-rebound performance from Alana Nelson, the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team defeated Holy Cross College 79-72 on Monday night for its fourth consecutive victory.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • After a back-and-forth first quarter, Spring Arbor took command with a dominant second period, outscoring Holy Cross 24-13. The Saints held a one-point lead midway through the second until the Cougars rolled off a 12-1 run.
  • Spring Arbor ballooned the lead to 13, 77-64, in the fourth quarter and held on to claim its fourth straight win.
  • Nelson registered her second double-double in a Cougar uniform with a team-best 21 points and a season-high 14 rebounds.
  • Three other Cougars finished in double figures with Alex Long posting 12 points and eight boards while Grace Shoobridge and Alize Tripp added 10 points apiece.
  • Holy Cross was led by Grace Adams and Jordyn Smith. Adams had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Smith followed with 20 points.
