ADRIAN, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team finished the 2022 calendar year on a high note Saturday afternoon with a 73-71 road victory over Siena Heights University.
Gabe Newhof had a game-high 24 points and
Austin Braun finished with 17 to lead the Cougars to their second straight win.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- It was a back-and-forth battle from the start with the lead changing hands 20 times throughout the course of the game.
- Siena Heights held a two-point lead with less than one minute remaining in the game, but a dunk from Newhof tied the score. Following a defensive stop by the Cougars – a blocked shot by Newhof – Kevyn Robertson drew a foul on the offensive end and sank two clutch free throws to give SAU its second win in a row and third straight victory over Siena Heights.
- Newhof finished with a game-high 24 points – his seventh 20-point performance of the campaign – and added nine rebounds. Braun followed with 17 points while Robertson notched 13 points and nine rebounds. Travis Grayson had six assists to go along with his seven points.
- Siena Heights got 17 points from Delano Williams and 15 from Colin Nutter.
