KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University softball wrapped up its time in Florida with a win on Friday. The Cougars defeated Judson University 4-0 behind a complete game, shutout effort by pitcher
MacKenzie Collins.
Earlier in the day, the Cougars suffered a 3-1 setback to Doane University.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- An RBI double by Kelsey Sturgeon in the second inning provided the game's only run through the first five innings.
- Spring Arbor was still clinging to its 1-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth, but Doane was finally able to breakthrough and took the lead with a two-run homer. The Tigers also added an insurance run later in the inning.
- Emmalee Hamp got the start in the circle and pitched four shutout innings allowing only one hit with four strikeouts. Elaina Walker suffered the loss giving up three runs in 1.1 innings of relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Cougars scored one run in the first inning, and held their 1-0 lead through the fifth, but broke the game open with three runs in the sixth.
- MacKenzie Collins was outstanding in the circle for Spring Arbor. The junior pitcher tossed seven shutout innings while allowing only one hit and striking out two batters.
- Maddy Thrush drove in a pair of runs while Abbey Lafler had one RBI. Maddie Gillett collected two hits.
