SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Playing at home for the first time this season, the Spring Arbor University baseball team won both games of Thursday's doubleheader to kick off the four-game series against the University of Saint Francis.
Spring Arbor took game one, 6-5, on a walk-off hit by
Landon Raczkowski in the bottom of the 11th inning. The Cougars followed that up with a 5-4 victory in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Saint Francis led 2-0 through five innings, but Spring Arbor struck for four runs in the sixth highlighted by an RBI double by Bryce Richey and an RBI single by Peyton Harding. The Cougars also added an insurance run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Harding.
- Down to its last three outs, Saint Francis rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth to force the game into extra innings.
- Following a scoreless 10th inning, the Cougars walked it off in the 11th. Landon Raczkowski played the hero delivering a two-out hit to drive in Jake Spedoske.
- Richey was 2-for-6 at the plate. Harding led the team with two RBI's while Ben Redfield scored twice.
- Jon Williams started on the mound and worked six innings allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out 10 batters. Cade Kontny tossed the final five frames giving up no earned runs and surrendering only one hit.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Saint Francis jumped on top again in game two scoring once in the first inning before adding another run in the fourth.
- Spring Arbor capitalized for four runs on a pair of USF errors in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead.
- SAU held a 4-3 advantage before adding a key insurance run in the sixth on an RBI double by Richey.
- Saint Francis threatened in the seventh, but Brant Mullins was able to slam the door to complete the doubleheader sweep.
- Redfield and Richey collected two hits apiece while Richey drove in a pair.
- Hunter Nielsen turned in a quality start on the mound allowing three runs – two earned – on five hits while fanning six over six innings.
