SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Sophomore
Emmalee Hamp turned in her 10th complete game of the season while blasting her team-leading fourth home run to help propel Spring Arbor University past Bethel University 7-2 in game one of Monday's Crossroads League doubleheader.
Bethel avoided the doubleheader sweep after defeating the Cougars 9-8 in 10 innings in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor erased an early 2-0 deficit with three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Maddy Thrush delivered a two-RBI double brining home Elaina Walker and Kelsey Sturgeon. Later in the inning, Thrush would score on a Pilot error.
- RBI doubles in the third inning by Jade Nowe and Walker extended SAU's lead to 5-2.
- An inning later, Hamp belted a two-run shot to put the Cougars on top 7-2.
- Hamp finished the game going 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a home run and two RBI's.
- Hamp went the distance in the circle pitching all seven innings. The sophomore hurler allowed only two runs on six hits while striking out nine batters.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Bethel built a 6-0 lead through four innings, but Spring Arbor came roaring back in the fifth scoring seven times to take the lead.
- The Cougars held an 8-6 lead in the seventh inning, however, the visitors were able to push two runs across the plate to force extra innings.
- After a scoreless eighth and ninth, Bethel tallied a run in the 10th to pull ahead, and the Pilots would hang on to split the doubleheader.
- Chloe Gignac, Sarah Matlock and Sarah Tourney all posted three hits with Matlock and Tourney also driving in two runs apiece.
