SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University and Marian University wrapped up their four-game set on Saturday with the Knights claiming both games of the doubleheader.
After scoring early in the contest, Marian held on to win 7-5 in game one before dealing SAU an 11-3 setback in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Marian got on the scoreboard early, plating seven runs in the first two innings.
- Spring Arbor got three runs back in the bottom of the first, and added one in the fourth, cutting the deficit to three, 7-4.
- That was how the score remained until the bottom of the ninth. Ben Redfield delivered a two-out, RBI single to bring the tying run to the plate, but the Knights were able to escape the jam with no further damage.
- Brant Mast went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored while Brennan Moran also collected two hits.
- Sean Cassel suffered the loss on the mound. Jacob Pavey was outstanding out of the bullpen, allowing only one earned run over eight innings and striking out seven to keep the Cougars in the game. Aaron Spry also added a scoreless inning of relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- A single run by Marian in the top of the first inning was the game's only run until the visitors posted five runs in the fifth and five more in the sixth.
- Spring Arbor added a run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh on RBI hits by Carson Bleicher and Brandon Haynes.
- Haynes finished with a hit and two RBI's while Redfield recorded two hits and a run scored.
- Brant Mullins allowed six runs – only three earned – in four innings pitched while fanning four batters. Josh Murphy pitched a scoreless inning of relief while striking out a pair.
