GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
  • Landon Raczkowski belted his team-leading seventh big fly of the season – a two-run shot – in the third inning to put the Cougars in front.
  • In the fifth inning, three runs scored on a double by Evan Lorey to boost the SAU lead to 5-0.
  • The Cougars increased their lead to 7-0 with a single run in the sixth and eighth innings.
  • Spring Arbor starting pitcher Jon Williams was outstanding, blanking the Bethel offense over seven innings while striking out seven batters. However, after Williams exited the game, the Pilots were able to push five runs across in the eighth to get within two, 7-5.
  • That was as close as Bethel would get as Cade Kontny came on out of the bullpen to slam the door shut and earn the save.
  • Raczkowski was 3-for-5 with two RBI's and two runs scored. Lorey and Brant Mast also recorded three hits apiece.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • For the second time of the day, Spring Arbor struck first. A two-out, RBI single by Peyton Harding in the top of the first inning gave SAU an early 1-0 advantage.
  • Harding delivered again in third inning, singling home Evan Lorey to put the Cougars on top 2-0.
  • Bethel responded with three runs in the home half of the third – highlighted by a two-run home run from Dominic Deisler.
  • Hunter Nielsen would hold the Pilots scoreless the rest of the way, but the Bethel pitching staff would make the lead hold up.
  • Raczkowski continued to swing a hot bat, picking up three more hits, including a double. Lorey also finished with three hits while Harding collected a pair.
  • Nielsen pitched a complete game, holding Bethel to only three runs on four hits in six innings of work.
