GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
  • Bethel raced out to a 3-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
  • Spring Arbor pulled ahead in the third inning after posting a four spot. After back-to-back RBI hits by Ben Redfield and Landon Raczkowski, Peyton Harding capped the frame with a two-run homer.
  • The Pilots retook the lead, 7-4, with two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
  • Still trailing by three in the ninth, the Cougars loaded the bases with two outs. An error by the home team extended the game and allowed two runs to cross the plate, but that was as close as SAU would get.
  • Redfield, Raczkowski and Bryce Richey finished with two hits apiece while Drew Anstead scored twice.
  • Cade Kontny suffered the loss on the mound after allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings while striking out six batters. Aaron Spry pitched four innings out of the bullpen and gave up two runs on four hits and fanned three.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • Richey blasted a two-run bomb as part of a three-run first inning for Spring Arbor.
  • Bethel responded with two runs in the bottom of the first and grabbed the lead with four more runs in the second.
  • The Pilots offense scored in every inning, and held a 12-6 advantage heading to the seventh.
  • Spring Arbor rallied in the seventh. The first three batters reached base safely, setting the stage for an RBI single by Raczkowski and a sacrifice fly by Richey to bring in another run. Harding followed with a two-RBI double to close the gap to two, 12-10. However, the Pilots would escape the jam and hold on to complete the doubleheader sweep.
  • Five Cougars recorded multiple hits, including Raczkowski, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI's and two runs scored. Brant Mast had two hits and scored three times while Richey drove in three.
