SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – In a game that started Monday, was halted due to darkness, and resumed on Friday, the Spring Arbor University softball team was a 7-6 winner over No. 8 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University in 11 innings.
Elaina Walker played the hero, delivering a clutch, two-out single to right field to bring in
Emmalee Hamp for the game's winning run.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- A four-run third inning gave Spring Arbor a 5-2 lead. Walker ripped a two-RBI single to start the scoring. Maddie Gillett followed with a double to bring home Walker, and Jade Nowe capped the frame with a single to drive in Gillett.
- Indiana Wesleyan got a run back in the fourth inning, but the Cougars carried a 5-3 lead into the seventh inning.
- Hamp retired the first two Wildcats to start the seventh, but a bloop single brought the tying run to the plate and IWU's Julianne Bell was able to capitalize with a two-run home run to knot the score, 5-5.
- After a scoreless eighth, ninth and 10th inning, the game was halted due to darkness.
- When the game resumed four days later, and the international tie-breaker in effect, the Wildcats scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning.
- In the home half of the inning, Allie Funk led things off with a sacrifice bunt, moving the tying run up to third base. Following a walk to Hamp, a wild throw from the catcher back to the pitcher allowed Funk to score and tie the game, 6-6. Two batters later, Walker delivered the game-winning hit.
- Jade Nowe had three hits to lead SAU. Gillett and Walker recorded two hits apiece while Walker finished with three RBI's.
- Hamp pitched all 11 innings and surrendered six runs while striking out six on her way to earning her 12th win of the season.
