UPLAND, Ind. – Spring Arbor University traveled to Taylor University on Tuesday and fell to the Trojans 7-2 and 3-1 in a Crossroads League doubleheader.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Taylor plated one run in the first inning before adding two more in the second on a Alexi Clay two-run home run.
- The Trojans broke the game open with four runs in the fifth inning.
- Maddie Gillett blasted a two-run homer in the sixth inning to get the Cougars on the scoreboard.
- Kelsey Sturgeon took the loss in the circle after giving up three runs over 1.2 innings pitched. MacKenzie Collins surrendered three runs in 2.1 innings of relief while Elena Jones tossed two scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Trojans struck first again with a run in the first inning, but a solo home run by Maddy Thrush in the third tied the score, 1-1.
- The home team retook the lead in the bottom of the third inning following an RBI single by Ashton Whitman. Taylor added an insurance run in the fourth.
- Thrush went 2-for-3 while hitting her second homer of the season.
- Emmalee Hamp held Taylor to only three runs on six hits over six innings pitched.
