SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team fell 3-0 to the defending conference champions and No. 3 ranked Marian University in its Crossroads League opener Wednesday evening inside the McDonald Athletic Center.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

• Alison Nibbelink had a team-high 11 kills while Sarah Eliason followed with six.
• Setters Hayden Fortress and Kenady Cox combined to hand out 25 assists while Cox also landed two aces.
• Frances Churchwell finished with 10 digs and Emily Johnson picked up nine.
• Marian was led by Gabby Fish and Jai-Lyn Norwood, who registered 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Spring Arbor is set to host a tri-match with the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Indiana University South Bend on Saturday, Sept. 10. The Cougars will play Michigan-Dearborn at 11 a.m. and face off against Indiana South Bend at 3 p.m.
