GARY, Ind. –
Frances Churchwell eclipsed the 1,500-dig plateau on Saturday as the Spring Arbor University volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches at the Indiana University Northwest tri-match.
The Cougars fell to Madonna University in a close, five-set match where four sets were decided by two points, including three needing extra points to decide a winner. But, SAU bounced back with a 3-0 sweep over host IU Northwest to close out the afternoon.
Churchwell entered the day needing just six digs to reach the milestone. The senior libero picked up a season-high 31 in the match against Madonna and added 22 more against Indiana Northwest giving her 1,547 for her career.
