OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Spring Arbor baseball team kicked off their season with a road trip to Kentucky and left with two strong showings to set the tone for their 2023 season.
In the first game, the Cougars started things off with a bang - literally. In the top of the 1st inning, junior
Landon Raczkowski launched a ball well over the outfield fence for a 2-run homerun, the first of the Cougars season.
From there, the Cougars continued to pile on the runs, amassing a 6-0 lead by the 2nd inning and eventually cruising to a 7-0 victory.
In the second game, Spring Arbor's offense again shined, as they built a 6-0 lead by the 6th inning.
The host Bearcats attempted to mount a comeback in the 7th as they scored 3 runs, but it was not enough as the Cougars stopped them there, winning 6-3 and sweeping the series.
