KOKOMO, IN. – The Spring Arbor baseball team traveled to Kokomo, Indiana for a neutral site game versus Marian this past Thursday, and came back having split the start of the four game series.
In game one, The Cougars were led by the top of their batting order, as each recorded at least one hit and accounted for all six of the Cougars' runs by the seventh inning.
They held a 6-2 advantage in the 7th inning when the Knights offense began to produce. They scored six runs in the 8th inning, which proved to be enough to steal the win away from the Cougars. Spring Arbor lost 7-8.
In game two, it was the Cougars who used a six-run inning to steal a lead away. Down by three runs in the second inning, Spring Arbor's offense erupted. They rattled off six runs, with the highlight being 2-run home runs from
Bryce Richey and
Landon Raczkowski.
Two innings later,
Braedon Leathed crushed a two-run home run as well. Thanks to the hot bats, the Cougars went on to win 11-8.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- The offense was led by a trio of Cougars:
Bryce Richey,
Evan Lorey and
Landon Raczkowski.
- Richey went 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs, Lorey was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs, and Raczkowski went 3-for-5 with an RBI.

Sean Cassel pitched a solid six innings on the mound, striking out four in the process.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The bats were hot in game 2, with six Cougars recording a hit and 3 recording at least two hits. Four Cougars recorded two RBIs as well.

Bryce Richey smacked his second home run of the season, hitting a 2-run homerun in the 3rd inning. In the same inning, Raczkowski hit his team-leading fourth homerun.

Braedon Leathed hit his first homerun of the season in the fourth inning.

Jared Plane earned the win on the mound, as he went 4.2 innings and struck out 4 batters.
Ryan Ruhlman pitched relief, and struck out 3 batters in 2.1 innings of action.
