Spring Arbor, MI. – The Cougar softball team concluded their season series with the Grace Lancers, hosting the contests at the Cougar softball Complex.
The Cougars were clicking on all cylinders in game one, as they fanned their nine runs across four consecutive innings to build a sizable lead. The balanced offense paired with stout pitching combined to help the Cougars earn a convincing 9-2 victory.
The second game did not go as the Cougars would have liked, however. The Cougars held a 2-0 advantage before the Lancers put up consecutive innings of two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to steal a crucial conference win away from Spring Arbor. The Cougars lost 2-4.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

- Hannah Laurin led the way for the Cougars, going 2-for-4 with a game-high 3 RBIs. Payton Grange pitched in by going 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs.
- The Cougars didn't hit as efficiently as they normally have, but still managed to score their nine runs on just eight hits.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Hannah Laurin and Lexi Cain produced the two RBIs on the day for the Cougars, and Summer Ambler aided at the plate by going 2-for-3.
- The loss is uncharacteristic for the Cougars as Grace sits towards the bottom of the conference. The Cougars will look to bounce back as they continue conference play.
