Spring Arbor, MI. – The Cougar softball team welcomed nationally ranked Mount Vernon Nazarene to the Cougar Softball Field, playing two tough contests this past weekend.
In the first game, both teams struggled at the plate, but excelled on the mound. Emmalee Hamp tossed another dominant outing, only allowing five hits and pitching a complete game. All it took was one inning for the Cougars to take a lead they would not give away, scoring three runs in the fifth inning to eventually win, 3-1.
In game two, it was Mount Vernon who used one inning to pull away. They managed to tally five runs in the sixth inning to break open a lead, one that the Cougars could not overcome. They managed two runs in the bottom of the sixth but it would not be enough, as they lost 2-6.
