Spring Arbor, MI. – The Spring Arbor softball team wrapped up their season series with the Huntington Foresters, with both games finishing with a one run separation.
In game one, The Cougars got late game heroics from freshman Lexi Cain, who broke a 2-2 tie with a solo shot in the sixth inning. They would go on to win 3-2.
The second game, the Cougars saw themselves down 5-2 early, and nearly got a rally going that took them the lead, as a two-run fifth inning saw them pull within one. It would not be enough, however, as they would go on to lose 4-5.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Emmalee Hamp struck out four batters and pitched a complete game on the mound for her 13th win in a row. She is now tied for third in the conference with 15 wins on the year.
- Lexi Cain's first collegiate home run came at a clutch time for Spring Arbor, as it gave them a late lead in the game that led them to victory.
- Grace Lentz also had a nice outing, going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Both RBIs came off a double in the third inning.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Hannah Laurin led the Cougars at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Grace Lentz and Emmalee Hamp also pitched in with an RBI each.
- The Cougars outhit Mount Vernon, but Mount Vernon capitalized on errors in the first inning that scored them three runs.
- Spring Arbor also only struck out once in the contest.
