Spring Arbor, MI. – The Cougars again welcomed a worthy opponent to the Cougar Softball Complex, this time hosting the conference-leading Marian Knights.
Game one saw the Cougars jump out to a commanding 3-0 lead versus the nationally ranked Knights. The Cougars snapped the Knights 27-game win streak earlier in the season, and again looked to play spoiler to the Knights impressive season.
Unfortunately, the Cougars conceded four runs in the final two innings, and dropped game one, 3-4.
In game two, it was the Cougars who again struck first, grabbing a slight 1-0 lead in the fourth inning. The Knights responded by rattling off three runs two innings later, and ultimately downed the Cougars for a consecutive game. Spring Arbor lost, 1-3.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- It was Grace Lentz with an RBI in the first inning, and Summer Ambler with 2 RBIs in the third inning that helped the Cougars jump out to their early 3-0 lead.
- Despite the loss, Emmalee Hamp pitched an impressive seven innings, striking out nine batters in the process.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Summer Ambler was responsible for the RBI in the first inning for the Cougars, which again gave them an early lead.
- Both teams struggled at the plate in the game, with the Cougars only earning four hits and the Knights only slightly edging them with five.
