Fort Wayne, IN. – The Cougar softball team took to the diamond to face the host University of St. Francis as they sought to make it a perfect 4-0 sweep on the season.
Game one was tightly contested all the way until the end. The Cougars held a slight 6-5 advantage going into the decisive 7th inning when their offense erupted to push the game out of reach. The Cougars posted four runs in the inning, and went on to take game one, 10-6.
The second game saw another tightly contested match. The Cougars again utilized a late run to create a gap, this time by putting up three runs in the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie. St. Francis would try their best to rally the following inning, but it would not be enough, as the Cougars successfully completed the 4-0 sweep on the season, winning game two 5-4.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Emmalee Hamp led the Cougars to victory on the mound, striking out four in 5.1 innings of action, while Elena Jones earned the save down the stretch.
- Four Cougars recorded multiple hits in the game, and six different Cougars posted an RBI.
- Sarah Tourney and Hannah Laurin led the way at the plate, with each going 3-for-4 with an RBI in the game. Mataija Cerroni also contributed, going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- MacKenzie Collins earned the win on the mound for Spring Arbor, striking out two and only allowing five hits in 6.2 innings of action.
- The Cougars only earned six hits in game two, but made the most of those hits with their five runs. Summer Ambler and Elaina Walker spearheaded the surge in the sixth innings, as each stepped up and produced RBIs.
- Ambler went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Walker was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
