Spring Arbor, MI. – The Cougars welcomed the Lancers to Hank Burbridge field and sent them home with two losses, one of them in an emphatic way.
In game one, the Cougars grinded out a 3-2 win, only earning five hits total in the game. The Cougars almost saw the Lancers tie it up late, as both runs from the Lancers came in the seventh inning.
Brant Mullins would earn the save for the Cougars.
In game two, the Cougars put on an absolute, offensive clinic. After falling into an early 0-3 hole in the first inning, the Cougars responded in a big way.
They put up six runs in each of the first three innings, turning that 0-3 deficit into a 18-3 advantage by the end of the third inning. Nine Cougars earned hits in the game and eight recorded at least one RBI. When it was all said and done, the Cougars had dominated the Lancers, winning 21-5 and sweeping the two games.
