UPLAND, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University volleyball team picked up its third victory on Wednesday, going on the road and defeating Crossroads League foe Taylor University 3-1.
Freshman
Keely Hinzman led the way for the Cougars with a season-best 15 kills while also recording six blocks.
Spring Arbor has won five of its last six matches and now stands at 7-6 overall and holds a 1-1 record in Crossroads League play.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Taylor, who entered the match as winners of three straight and receiving votes in the latest Top 25 Poll, won the first set and had control early in the second set. However, Spring Arbor found its footing and used a late 5-1 run to claim the second set and even the match at one set apiece.
- Holding on to a 16-15 lead in set two, SAU took command with 5-0 run, punctuated by a block and kill from Hinzman, and eventually won the set, 25-20.
- Natasha Bickel and Kelsie Lilly helped lift the Cougars to an early 12-7 advantage in the fourth set. Spring Arbor maintained its lead until late in the set when Taylor pulled ahead 24-23. The Cougars responded with three straight points, including back-to-back kills from Hinzman, to close the set and claim the win.
- Hinzman finished with a season-high 15 kills and a .519 hitting percentage while adding six blocks and six digs.
- Bickel had 10 kills while Lilly and Kendall Bollenbacher added eight each. Camy Wedge compiled 25 assists and 15 digs. Kirstyn Throop and Frances Churchwell registered 18 and 17 digs, respectively.
