SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team secured a resounding 7-1 homecoming victory over Huntington University at the Cougar Soccer Complex on Saturday.
The win lifted the Cougars' season record to an impressive 9-2-0 overall and a flawless 4-0-0 in Crossroads League play.
The game kicked off with Spring Arbor taking an early lead thanks to a quick goal by
Jocelyn Hendricks at the 2:41 mark, setting the tone for what was to become a high-scoring affair. By halftime, the Cougars were comfortably ahead, with the scoreboard reading 3-1.
The domination continued in the second half, with multiple players stepping up. Marshall and Hendricks each scored another goal, alongside
Regan Ramirez, who notched two goals, and
Makenna Wilson found the back of the net to round out the scoring. Assists were plentiful as well, with
Jessie Postma and
Annika Arsenault each providing two assists, and
Paige Beaudry adding another.
In addition to the spectacular game day performance, the event also doubled as Senior Day, paying tribute to SAU's outstanding senior class.
Looking ahead, the Cougars are set to face No. 13 ranked Marian University on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Cougar Soccer Complex, in a crucial Crossroads League matchup.
