Baseball wins under the lights of Burbridge Field against Grace Christian

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team defeated Grace Christian University 9-6 on Tuesday under the lights at Hank Burbridge Field.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • A seven-run third inning helped Spring Arbor jump out to an 8-0 lead after three innings.
  • Grace Christian clawed its way back with two runs in the fourth inning. The Tigers closed the gap to two, 8-6, after plating four runs in the seventh.
  • An RBI groundout by Connor Dee added an insurance run for the Cougars in the bottom of the seventh.
  • SAU pitchers Josh Murphy and Kyler Hinken halted the Grace Christian rally with scoreless eighth and ninth innings.
  • Jake Zeeb collected two hits and two RBIs to lead the offense. Seth Clothier also had a hit and two RBIs.
  • Ryan Ruhlman picked up the win on the mound working three shutout innings with two strikeouts. Hinken earned the save with his perfect ninth inning while fanning two.
 
 
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor travels to Indianapolis for a four-game series with Marian University. The Cougars and the Knights play two games on Friday, Mar. 15 starting at 1 p.m. and two more games on Saturday, Mar. 16 starting at noon.
