GOSHEN, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team split the first two contests of its four-game series at Goshen College. The Cougars lost game one of the doubleheader 8-5 but bounced back with a 13-4 victory in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- A five-run third inning helped Goshen grab an early lead.
- Spring Arbor trailed 7-1 after seven innings, but a grand slam by Connor Dee in the eighth inning cut the deficit to two, 7-5.
- Goshen added an insurance run in the home half of the eighth, and was able to hold on to take game one.
- Dee went 2-for-2 with two walks while driving in four. Braydon Gregory recorded the only other SAU hit.
- Kyler Hinken pitched six innings giving up five runs on two hits while fanning six batters. Ryan Ruhlman worked two innings of relief surrendering three runs on four hits.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Spring Arbor offense erupted for 13 runs on 14 hits in game two of the doubleheader.
- The Cougars scored seven runs over the first three innings.
- SAU held a 7-4 lead after six innings before putting the game out of reach with a six-run seventh.
- Five Cougars had at least two hits, including Dee, who collected finished with two doubles, a single, an RBI and two runs scored. Jaeden Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Bryce Richey, Jake Spedoske and Gregory drove in two runs apiece.
- John Hojnowski picked up the win on the mound. The freshman pitcher allowed four runs on four hits over 4.1 innings of work while striking out six. Joey McCowen added 2.2 shutout innings and fanned three.
