MOUNT VERNON, Ohio –
John Hojnowski piled up a season-high 12 strikeouts over eight outstanding innings to lead Spring Arbor University to a 4-1 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University in game two of Saturday's Crossroads League doubleheader.
In game one, Mount Vernon Nazarene rallied late, scoring seven unanswered runs over the final three innings, to hand SAU a 10-7 setback.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor scored four runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth to take a 7-3 lead.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene closed the gap with a run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to get within one, 7-6.
- The home team completed the comeback with four runs in the eighth.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Game two was tied 1-1 after seven innings, sending the game into extra innings.
- In the ninth, a two-RBI double by Gonzalez gave SAU the lead. Spedoske followed with an RBI single to add an insurance run.
- Joey McCowen closed out the game in the bottom of the ninth to earn the save.
- Spedoske and Bryce Richey had two hits apiece.
- Hojnowski picked up the win on the mound. The freshman pitcher went eight innings allowing only one run on six hits and fanned a career-high 12 batters.
