Baseball walks-off Siena Heights in extra-innings to secure fourth straight win

SPRING ARBOR, Mich.Jake Zeeb delivered a walk-off single in extra innings as Spring Arbor University rallied to defeat Siena Heights University 8-7 in 11 innings Wednesday night at Hank Burbridge Field.
 
The Cougars scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extras, setting the stage for Zeeb's second walk-off hit of the season.
 
The win extended Spring Arbor's winning streak to four games and improved the team's overall record to 18-22.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
  • Siena Heights plated a run in the top of the first, but Aiden Brunin homered on the first pitch he saw in the home half of the inning to tie the score, 1-1.
  • Seth Clothier gave Spring Arbor the lead with a solo shot in the second inning.
  • With the score tied 4-4 in the fifth, the Saints score two runs to retake the lead. However, the Cougars would get one run back on a big fly by Braydon Gregory in the sixth.
  • Spring Arbor trailed 7-5 entering the ninth. Jake Spedoske worked a leadoff walk and that would ignite a rally. Brunin followed with a base hit and Ben Redfield followed with a double off the left field fence to plate both runners and tie the score, 7-7.
  • In the 11th, Connor Dee and Jaeden Rodriguez were issued back-to-back walks to put the winning run in scoring position. And, for the second time this season, Jake Zeeb played the hero, singling through the right side to allow the Cougars to walk-off with the victory.
  • Brunin was 3-for-4, including his team-leading fifth home run of the season, with three runs scored while Bryce Richey collected a pair of hits.
  • Jack Will picked up the win on the mound with a scoreless inning of relief. Trammell Lindstrom was outstanding out of the bullpen, holding Siena Heights scoreless over four innings of work while striking out four batters.
