SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team opened its series against Bethel University with a doubleheader split on Friday at Hank Burbridge Field. The Cougars fell 3-2 in game one, but bounced back with a 7-0 victory in the night cap behind a complete game shutout by sophomore pitcher Colin Sndyer.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Bethel plated two runs in the second inning to take the early lead. Spring Arbor starter Kyler Hinken settled in and held the Pilots scoreless for the next six frames.
- An RBI single by Jaeden Rodriguez in the fourth inning cut the deficit to one before Bryce Richey delivered an RBI double in the sixth to tie the score, 2-2.
- Bethel regained the lead in the top of the ninth with a two-out run and held on to take the first game of the series.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Snyder was outstanding in game two of the twinbill. The sophomore hurler blanked Bethel over seven innings while allowing just three hits and fanning five batters.
- Spring Arbor scored all the runs it would need in the first inning. Rodriguez singled to bring home Ben Redfield and Ryan Gonzalez followed with a hit to drive in Rodriguez and Braydon Gregory.
- Gonzalez and Redfield finished with two hits and two RBIs each. Aiden Brunin scored twice.

Spring Arbor is back at home tomorrow to complete the four-game set against Bethel. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
Prior to the game, SAU will hold a dedication ceremony for the newly renovated Hank Burbridge Field. The Cougars will also recognize the 1981 baseball team between games and honor them with a ring ceremony as the first team in program history to reach the NAIA World Series.
