SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University softball team split a doubleheader with the University of Saint Francis on Saturday at the Cougar Softball Field.
The Cougars cruised to a 9-2 win in the opener before falling 2-0 in game two of the twin bill.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor scored seven runs over the first two innings – highlighted by a three-run home run by Maddy Thrush.
- The Cougars added two more runs in the fourth inning on RBI hits by Brooke Meeker and Elaina Walker.
- Thrush was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Walker also had two hits with two RBIs.
- Emmalee Hamp picked up her 18th win of the season. The senior pitcher allowed one earned run on five hits over six innings. Bailey Bartrum added an inning of scoreless relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Saint Francis grabbed the early lead with a run in the first inning.
- USF pitcher Kennedy Baioni held the Spring Arbor bats in check, pitching seven scoreless innings and limiting the Cougars to just five hits.
- Payton Grange had two of SAU's hits, going 2-for-3 at the plate.
- Elena Jones pitched seven strong innings allowing only two runs and scattered seven hits.
