MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University softball extended its winning streak to five after going on the road and picking up a pair of victories over Bethel University on Friday.
Spring Arbor defeated Bethel 2-0 in game one behind home runs by
Grace Lentz and
Summer Ambler and another stellar outing by senior pitcher
Emmalee Hamp. Then, the Cougars came from behind to win 7-6 in game two of the twin bill.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- After three scoreless innings, Spring Arbor started the fourth inning with a bang with Lentz and Ambler hitting back-to-back solo home runs.
- That was all the run support Hamp needed. The senior hurler blanked the Pilots over seven innings while allowing just three hits and striking out nine.
- Elaina Walker, Maddy Thrush and Ambler collected two hits apiece.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor trailed 6-4 after four innings.
- The Cougars got a run back in the fifth on an RBI single by Thrush, and scored two more runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Hamp, who reached on a double, came around to score a double steal to tie the game before Ambler delivered a clutch, two-out double to drive in Tiffany Keller to put SAU in front, 7-6.
- Hamp was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and hit for the cycle while scoring three times and driving in two. Amber went 3-for-4 while Thrush and Lexi Cain had two hits each.
- Tammy Craven picked up the win in the circle. The freshman pitched 3.1 scoreless innings of relief and Ambler earned the save after working a scoreless seventh inning.
