WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team fell to the defending national champions, the University of the Cumberlands, 3-1 on Tuesday in a rematch of last year's national tournament semifinal game.
The No. 7 ranked Cougars scored first when
Lauren Marshall scored in the 16th minute, but the No. 1 ranked Patriots responded with three unanswered goals and remained undefeated on the season.

- No. 7 Spring Arbor and No. 1 Cumberlands met in a rematch of last year's national tournament semifinal game where the Patriots spoiled SAU's quest for back-to-back titles by defeating the Cougars 2-0.
- This time it was Spring Arbor that drew first blood when Lauren Marshall scored in the 16th minute.
- Cumberlands was able to find the equalizer two minutes later, and pulled ahead with another goal in the 20th minute.
- The Patriots put the game out of reach when UC's Jayden Boelter scored her second goal of the afternoon in the 63rd minute.
- SAU goalkeeper Reagan Kohler finished the game with nine saves.
