GOSHEN, Ind. – After two tough losses to begin the conference campaign, the Spring Arbor University volleyball team bounced back in a big way in its third Crossroads League matchup, dominating Goshen College 3-0.
The Cougars started the first set by going back and forth with Maple Leafs, holding on to a 4-3 lead, before a stifling 11-2 run put Spring Arbor up 15-5. Goshen showed a little fight, but the Cougars coasted to the set one victory, 25-14.
Set two was a back and forth affair, with both teams trading runs throughout the set. Goshen held a 19-16 lead late in the set before Spring Arbor went on a 4-0 run to take the lead, highlighted by two kills from
Kendall Bollenbacher, and a service ace from
Kirstyn Throop. Goshen would again tie the score at 20 all, but the Cougars surged ahead once again, and this time for good, securing the set two victory with kills by
Kelsie Lilly, Bollenbacher, and
Natasha Bickel, along with a pair of blocks from Bickel and
Keely Hinzman.
Set three started out all Cougars, as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead, courtesy of three service aces from
