SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – In an impressive display, the Spring Arbor University women's soccer team routed Madonna University 6-0 in a non-conference clash on Wednesday evening.
Spring Arbor opened the scoring early and had secured a 2-0 lead by halftime, thanks to goals from
Lauren Marshall and
Claire VanZanten. The team's momentum continued unabated in the second half, with additional goals by
Rachel Tanielian,
Kaylee Beekel,
Shelby Marshall, and another from VanZanten, ensuring a resounding win for the home side.
Assists were plentiful with contributions from Beekel,
Kayla Baar,
Jocelyn Hendricks, and
Annika Arsenault. The defensive, anchored by goalie
Reagan Kohler, played a crucial role in earning the team's second clean sheet this season.
This victory improves the Cougars' record to 5-2-0 on the season. Their next game is set for Wednesday, Sept. 25 on the road against Bethel University.
