SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's
Camden Khon has been named the Crossroads League Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Khon was recognized with the award on the heels of his claiming first place at the Crossroads League Championship on Friday. The junior standout from Armada, Michigan completed the 8k race on the campus of Indiana Wesleyan University in a career-best and course record time of 24:14 – more than 12 seconds ahead of second place.
It was the first win by an SAU runner at the conference meet since Kyle Anderson captured first place in 2013.
Khon's performance helped lead Spring Arbor to a third place team finish – just two points behind second place Taylor University, which is ranked No. 4 nationally.
No. 18 ranked Spring Arbor turns its focus now to the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship. The 70th annual championship meet is set for Friday, Nov. 21 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
