ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team kept its perfect start to the season rolling with a dominant 76-42 win on the road at Rochester Christian University on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars improved to 4-0 on the year with the victory.
Spring Arbor wasted no time setting the tone, racing out to a 25-10 lead after the first quarter and clamped down defensively in the second period, holding the Warriors to just five points in the frame. The Cougars would take a commanding 43-15 advantage into halftime and cruise to the win.
Haven Chapman recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the way for SAU.
Emma Smieska added 13 points, while
Megan Zeitz contributed 12 as the Cougars' balanced offense continued to shine.
Spring Arbor will return home on Saturday, Nov. 15 to host Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in its home opener at 1 p.m. in the McDonald Athletic Center.
