MARION, Ind. – Spring Arbor University's
Camden Khon delivered a historic performance on Saturday, winning the Crossroads League Championship individual title with a course-record time of 24:14.
Khon becomes the first Cougar to win the league championship since Kyle Anderson in 2013, crossing the finish line of the 8k course more than 12 seconds ahead of second place.
The Armada, Michigan native's performance – the third-best time in SAU history – headlined a strong showing for the SAU contingent, which placed four runners inside the top-20.
Jacob Singleton finished 10th overall with a time of 24:46 to earn All-Crossroads League honors along with Khon while
Joey Bowman and
Dean Reynolds finished 16th and 17th, respectively, in 25:17.
The No. 18 ranked Cougars finished third out of 10 teams in the highly competitive field – just two points behind No. 4 Taylor University.
Indiana Wesleyan University, ranked No. 2 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Rating, came in first place to capture its third championship in the last four years with Spring Arbor claiming the only other title during that span a season ago.
