GARY, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team picked up its second win in as many days and extended its winning streak to five games with a 79–55 road victory over Indiana University Northwest on Thursday afternoon.
Spring Arbor held a slim 28–26 advantage at halftime before taking control in the third quarter. The Cougars outscored the RedHawks 24–9 in the period, creating separation and building a lead it would not relinquish the rest of the way.
Megan Zeitz led SAU with 16 points while
Haven Chapman added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Madison Sonsini also finished in double figures with 11 points.
Defensively, Spring Arbor was once again sharp, forcing 22 turnovers and recording 15 steals. The Cougars limited Indiana Northwest to 35 percent shooting from the field, closing out another strong all-around performance on the road.
Up next, Spring Arbor (10-1) travels Rio Grande, Ohio to for a pair of games. The Cougars will play the College of Coastal Georgia (10-2) on Monday, Dec. 29 and No. 8 ranked University of Rio Grande (9-1) on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
