SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team closed out the calendar year with an 89-53 home victory over Siena Heights University on Tuesday afternoon.
Spring Arbor never trailed in the contest and improved to 8-6 on the season with the win. The Cougars were efficient offensively, shooting 58 percent from the field and 71 percent from 3-point range while connecting on a season-best 15 triples – the most in a game since hitting 16 during the 2017-18 season.
Shane Rykse led the way, matching his season-high with 21 points while knocking down all five of his attempts from beyond the arc.
Travis Grayson,
Dante Favor, and
Ty Rykse each finished with 12 points with Grayson also handing out eight assists.
David Cundiff added a career-high 10 assists to go along with five points.
The Cougars return to Crossroads League action this weekend with a trip to Marion, Indiana on Saturday, Jan. 3 to take on No. 10 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University (11-2, 2-2 CL).
