SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University softball team dropped both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The Cougars fell 12-3 in game one and 5-1 in game two.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Mount Vernon Nazarene jumped out to an early 5-0 lead but Spring Arbor got two back in the bottom of the third inning on a 2-run double by Taylor Clark.
- The Cougars closed the gap to two, 5-3, in the fifth inning after Clark doubled again to bring home Summer Ambler.
- MVNU put the game out of reach with seven runs in the top of the seventh.
- Clark was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in all three of SAU's runs.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The visitors pushed an unearned run across in the top of the first inning, but Ambler tied the game with a solo home run in the home half of the frame.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene tallied two runs in the third inning and two more in the fifth.
- Ambler, who reached base three times in game one, was 3-for-3 with a homer in game two.
- Ava Poulson allowed four earned runs on six hits in five innings pitched while striking out five. Tammy Craven added two perfect innings of relief, retiring all six batters she faced.
