HUNTINGTON, Ind. –
Summer Ambler hit her ninth home run of the season to highlight a 4-1 victory by the Spring Arbor University softball team in game one of Thursday's doubleheader at Huntington University.
The Cougars led by three late in game two, but the Foresters rallied for three runs in the sixth inning before plating the game-winning run in the eighth to hand SAU a 4-3 setback.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor trailed 1-0 through the first three innings, but the Cougars plated a pair of runs in the fourth to take the lead. Brooke Meeker scored on a base hit by Kennadi Killeen and Lexi Cain followed with a triple to left to bring home Killeen.
- In the fifth, SAU added to its lead when Summer Ambler blasted a two-run homer. It was Ambler's ninth long ball of the season, which not only leads the team but ranks as the fourth-most in the Crossroads League.
- Emilee Underwood recorded the win in the circle. The sophomore pitcher surrendered only one unearned run while striking out eight batters.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Payton Grange gave Spring Arbor a 1-0 lead with her RBI single in the second inning.
- The Cougars manufactured two more runs in the fifth inning to add to their lead. Sarah Stewart scored on Killeen's infield single and Meeker crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Cain.
- Starting pitcher Ava Poulson silenced the Huntington bats through the first five innings, but the Foresters were able to breakthrough for three runs in the sixth to tie the score, 3-3.
- After a scoreless seventh, the game went into extra innings where the Foresters were able to walk-off with the win.
- Grange was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI while Grace Luby had two hits and scored one run.
- Poulson pitched 5.2 innings and allowed three runs on four hits while fanning six. Underwood suffered the loss surrendering one run on three hits in 1.1 innings of relief and struck out three batters.
