UPLAND, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University softball team dropped a close 3-2 decision to No. 12 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University in the Crossroads League Tournament on Wednesday.
The loss sends the Cougars to the losers bracket and will face the University of Saint Francis in an elimination game tomorrow at noon.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- After a scoreless first two innings, Spring Arbor broke the deadlock in the third inning on an RBI double by Summer Ambler.
- Indiana Wesleyan answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and added another run in the fourth to grab a 3-1 lead.
- In the seventh inning, Payton Grange blasted a solo home run to get SAU within a run, but IWU was able to hold on.
- Ambler and Matajia Cerroni collected two hits apiece.
- Emilee Underwood pitched all six innings in the loss. She did not allow any earned runs and struck out six batters.
