SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University softball team had two student-athletes earn Crossroads League all-league honors for the 2025 season, as the conference announced its postseason awards Tuesday.
Summer Ambler was selected to the All-Crossroads League Second Team while
Emilee Underwood received Honorable Mentions honors.
Ambler enjoyed her best season yet, posting career-highs in nearly every statistical category, including 11 home runs – the most in a single-season by a Cougar since 2010. The junior first baseman also led the team in runs scored (38), hits (58), RBIs (34) stolen bases (14), batting average (.377), slugging percentage (.682) and on-base percentage (.458). She recorded 17 multi-hit games, including one four-hit game.
Through three seasons, Ambler is batting .342 (143-for-418) with 41 extra-base hits, 87 runs scored and 75 RBIs.
Underwood made an immediate impact in her first season at Spring Arbor. The sophomore pitcher won 14 games in the circle and owned a 3.04 earned run average, which ranked third in the Crossroads League. She notched 20 complete games in 27 starts, including five shutouts, and struck out a conference-best 160 batters in 174.2 innings pitched.
