SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 14 ranked Spring Arbor University men's soccer team opened its 2025 campaign on the right foot, defeating Rochester Christian University 3-0 on Thursday evening at the Cougar Soccer Complex.

Guilherme Micaelo added a second half tally to put the game away.

MATCH SUMMARY
- SAU jumped in the 11th minute when Ian Lama slotted home the first goal of the season. After Jeff Palmer played a ball over the top of the Warrior backline, Lama beat his defender along the endline and slipped a shot past the RCU netminder.
- The Cougars doubled the lead just over 10 minutes later when Pedro Rosa redirected a ball sent in by David Magalhaes and would take a 2-0 lead into the break.
- Spring Arbor added another tally in the 51st minute. A free kick from Guilherme Micaelo from just outside the box found its way into the back of the net after a deflection by a Rochester Christian defender.
- Spring Arbor outshot Rochester Christian 11-5.
- SAU goalkeeper Jack Cristini made a pair of saves in the shutout.
