SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University jumped into the rankings at No. 21 in the fourth regular season edition of the NAIA Women's Basketball Top 25 Poll, released by the national office Wednesday.
Head coach
John Williams and the Cougars boast a 15-2 overall record – ranking among the nation's leaders in total wins – and are tied at the top of the Crossroads League standings with a 6-1 mark in conference play.
Megan Zeitz leads the team and ranks top-10 in the Crossroads League in scoring averaging 15.1 points per game and has handed out a team-best 37 assists.
Ashley Weller and
Haven Chapman are averaging 9.8 points per game each while Chapman is bringing in a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game.
Spring Arbor is one of five Crossroads League teams in the latest rankings. Joining SAU is No. 4 Marian University and No. 6 University of Saint Francis while Huntington University and Taylor University are receiving votes.
The Cougars play four of their next five games at home beginning with a matchup against Taylor (14-3, 4-3 CL) on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 5 p.m.
